Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Last updated 13 October 2026. This policy is part of the privacy section of our Terms.
Why this page exists
Some laws, including Washington's My Health My Data Act and Nevada's consumer health data law, treat information that could show something about a person's health as "consumer health data". On a site about peptides and medicines, the pages you read and the questions you ask Sergeant Pep could count, so this page explains how that information is handled.
What we collect
- Page visits, through Google Analytics: which pages were viewed, roughly where from, and the device type. In the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland, Washington, Nevada, Connecticut and Quebec, and where your location cannot be determined, Google Analytics loads only after you agree. It never loads on the Sergeant Pep page.
- Questions you ask Sergeant Pep. You must agree before asking. The site keeps an anonymous record of each question (the date, the type of answer, the reading level and which articles were used), not the question itself, unless you tick the optional "keep my question" box.
- Emails you send us at [email protected].
Why we collect it
To show you the site, to answer your question, to keep Sergeant Pep within its daily limits, and, only for questions you chose to keep, to check the answers and improve the site. We do not use it to target ads at you.
Who receives it
- Anthropic receives each question you ask Sergeant Pep, with excerpts of our articles, to generate the answer. It does not use them to train its models and deletes them within 30 days, or keeps them up to 2 years if its automated safety systems flag a conversation, or longer where the law requires.
- Google receives page-visit data through Google Analytics, and through ads where they are shown (never on the Sergeant Pep page).
- Cloudflare hosts the site and the database that holds the records described here.
We do not sell consumer health data.
How long we keep it
- Questions you chose to keep, with email addresses, phone numbers and links removed, and their answers: deleted automatically after 90 days.
- Anonymous question records: 90 days.
- A one-way scrambled form of your IP address, used only for the daily question limit: 2 days.
- Google Analytics data: 14 months.
Your rights
- Withdraw consent at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. Stop using Sergeant Pep at any time.
- Ask what we hold, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected]. Kept questions are not linked to your name or account, so tell us the date and the wording and we will delete matching records. We reply within 45 days.
- Appeal a decision by replying to our answer; if we still decline, you may contact your state attorney general.
